It means greater support and involvement by the WordPress Foundation in exchange for conforming to the standards being adopted by all the camps.<\/p>\n<p>One of the conditions of being listed among the official WordCamps from this point forward is approval of the budget.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially, the nonprofit WordPress Foundation wants to make sure no one is profiting from the event and the ethos of a low cost, Do-It-Yourself conference is preserved.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve been doing that all along so no worries for WordCamp Fayetteville.<\/p>\n<p>In fact the WordPress Foundation&#8217;s Jane Wells just approved our 2011 budget.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Our watchword has always been transparency and that&#8217;s a value WordPress Foundation wants to continue &#8211; In fact, WordPress Fayetteville 2010 has the distinction of being the only WordCamp to publicly post financials on the website that year.<\/p>\n<p>So here is the budget that was approved. It&#8217;s ambitious but awesome, effectively doubling what we spent last year.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h1>WordCamp Fayetteville 2011 Budget<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Attendance Estimate: 200 &#8211; 300 people <\/strong><\/p>\n<h1>COSTS<\/h1>\n<p>Reynold\u2019s Center (Saturday accommodations) &#8211; $2,000<\/p>\n<p>After Party &#8211; $1,200<\/p>\n<p>Saturday Lunch &#8211; $2,100 (300 people @ 7\/unit)<\/p>\n<p>Saturday Breakfast snacks = $400<\/p>\n<p>T-shirts &#8211; $ (300 shirts @ $8 unit) = $2,400<\/p>\n<p>Sunday\u2019s Guru Gallery snacks, etc = $500<\/p>\n<p>Registration Gear = $500<\/p>\n<p>Speaker\u2019s Gifts and Speaker travel expenses = $1,500<\/p>\n<p>Friday night volunteer and speaker dinner = $500<\/p>\n<p><strong>Costs \u00a0= $11,100<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1>REVENUE<\/h1>\n<p>$6,000 to $8,000 attendee fees (200 to 300 @ $30\/ticket)<\/p>\n<p>$1,000 Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion Commission<\/p>\n<p>$1,000 Vault Press<\/p>\n<p>$300 Blue Zoo Websites<\/p>\n<p>$2,000 in other sponsorships<\/p>\n<p><strong>Revenue = $10,300 to $12,300, depending on attendance<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regulations on WordCamps are tighter this year.
