Thank You, Hampton Inn!

The Hampton Inn in Siloam Springs is bringing the essentials of civilized coffee drinking to WordCamp Fayetteville 2018.

WordCamps run on coffee. In fact, the only actual requirements for food and drink at WordCamps are water and coffee. If you don’t have coffee, you are officially not a WordCamp.

So we are very thankful to Hampton Inn for providing coffee carafes, cups, and the like to make our coffee drinking a pleasant experience.

Hampton Inn Siloam Springs is just half an hour from the WordCamp Fayetteville venue by car, so if you’re still hotel shopping, check it out

Introducing Fayapuu, WordCamp Fayetteville’s First Wapuu!

This year WordCamp Fayetteville is bringing More Fun, More WordPress, and their very first Wapuu, Fayapuu. Fayapuu’s clown attire fits in perfectly with this fun Carnival-themed WordCamp.

The Wapuu is the WordPress official mascot and WordCamps, companies, and other WordPress related events are sporting them with adorable themes.

“I first fell in love with Wapuus at WordCamp US 2017 in Nashville, TN coming home with a bunch of collector pins. As the new lead organizer for WordCamp Fayetteville one thing I wanted to accomplish was for WCFay to make a mark in Wapuu history.” – Scarlett Isbell, WordCamp Fayetteville Lead Organizer.

Thus the idea for Fayapuu was born. Graphic Designer Rachel Korpella was able to turn this idea into a reality, bringing Fayapuu to life. He received his name as a combination his hometown of Fayetteville and his species, the Wapuu, creating a name that fits perfectly.

The word about Fayapuu is spreading fast. You can find him on the WCFay Speaker Badge, the WCFay 2018 t-shirt, and very soon on the official Wapuu Website. WordCamp Fayetteville will also have exclusive Fayapuu buttons (pictured below) for their attendees on Saturday, June 22nd, quantities are limited so come early.

Fayapuu has really created a lot of excitement and has brought the world of Wapuus to WordCamp Fayetteville.  You can defiantly plan on seeing more of this adorable Wapuu in the future.

Sponsor Highlight: The .Buzz Registry

First-time WordCamp Fayetteville sponsor The .Buzz Registry brings more than some of the cutest swag we’ve ever seen.

With a .buzz domain name, you can share news on your company’s products and services, broadcast your community outreach, and most importantly, build popularity and “buzz” for your work.

The .Buzz Registry is an online communication platform for individuals, businesses, and organizations. .Buzz offers an alternative to the shrinking namespace of existing top-level domains, such as .com, .net, and .org.

The company says that their clients “inspire others to think differently” and that they are the home of the internet platform that fuels community interest, excitement, and new experiences. If you have an inspirational message to deliver, .buzz is the perfect stage to engage your audience.

From their website (because they say it best!): “As a small company, backed by the best registry services partner, we live and support the entrepreneurial spirit. We support the creative entrepreneur as well as the established company reinventing itself, each with a vision for the future and inspiring others along the way.”

Learn more on their website.

WordCamp 2018 Speakers: Eric Huber

Eric Huber has spoken at most Fayetteville WordCamps. The only exceptions have been the years when he was lead organizer. So you might already know that his presentations are high energy, fun, and informative.

If you haven’t yet enjoyed one of  Eric’s presentations, this year is a great opportunity. Eric will be discussing design for your website and your life.

Eric is cofounder and COO at Blue Zoo Creative, with a couple of decades of award-winning web design work under his belt, as well as corporate experience.
