Introducing Fayapuu, WordCamp Fayetteville’s First Wapuu!

This year WordCamp Fayetteville is bringing More Fun, More WordPress, and their very first Wapuu, Fayapuu. Fayapuu’s clown attire fits in perfectly with this fun Carnival-themed WordCamp.

The Wapuu is the WordPress official mascot and WordCamps, companies, and other WordPress related events are sporting them with adorable themes.

“I first fell in love with Wapuus at WordCamp US 2017 in Nashville, TN coming home with a bunch of collector pins. As the new lead organizer for WordCamp Fayetteville one thing I wanted to accomplish was for WCFay to make a mark in Wapuu history.” – Scarlett Isbell, WordCamp Fayetteville Lead Organizer.

Thus the idea for Fayapuu was born. Graphic Designer Rachel Korpella was able to turn this idea into a reality, bringing Fayapuu to life. He received his name as a combination his hometown of Fayetteville and his species, the Wapuu, creating a name that fits perfectly.

The word about Fayapuu is spreading fast. You can find him on the WCFay Speaker Badge, the WCFay 2018 t-shirt, and very soon on the official Wapuu Website. WordCamp Fayetteville will also have exclusive Fayapuu buttons (pictured below) for their attendees on Saturday, June 22nd, quantities are limited so come early.

Fayapuu has really created a lot of excitement and has brought the world of Wapuus to WordCamp Fayetteville.  You can defiantly plan on seeing more of this adorable Wapuu in the future.
